Part 1 - Welcome!
Dear %$firstname$%,
Well, the weather in August may not have lived up to expectations
so far, but there are still some hot days around. You just need
to grab them by the tail.
I took advantage of one recently to go hiking on the South
Downs followed by afternoon tea in Alfriston and a visit to
their award-winning indie bookstore Much
Ado Books
It feels like being in someone’s house and one room even
opens onto the garden, which is inhabited by some unusual looking
chickens (including a delightfully-named Bantam Frizzle - yes,
really!)
Have a great August and head for the hills or your local bookstore.
Part
2 - Feature Article
The Shaman's Last Apprentice
I often come across books that I think are fabulous
and want more people to know about them. Once such title is the
‘The Shaman’s Last Apprentice’ by Rebekita
(little Rebekah as the shaman called her). A friend lent me a
copy and I read it without stopping. I recently interviewed Rebekah
to find out more about the challenges of living in the rainforest
and of writing her first book.
“Your time in Machu Picchu was only to prepare you.
Your destiny has always been with me and now you are almost ready.”
“Ready for what?” I thought. “What is my
purpose for being in Peru?”
“Ready to find out who you truly are,” came the
reply…
It is a compelling and frank account of her true
experiences as the first Western pupil and last apprentice to
an elderly shaman deep in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest.
The ancient wisdom helps her to discover the truth about herself
and bring back a message of hope from this sacred place for these
times of instability and change.
