How I Coach

Carl Jung spoke about "going into the dark to find the gold". This is a good analogy for the writing process.  It can be an intense, deeply personal, challenging, but ultimately rewarding inner journey.  Writing is about finding your own voice, following your passions and having the courage to express them in the world. 

My role is to support you on your writing path. I’ll help you feel confident about expressing your creativity and putting subject matter you’re passionate about out into the world to make a difference.

Think of it as partnering:  we make the journey of writing your book together and you can have as little or as much support as you need. With support, you’re more likely to see your book project through to completion.

Using my experience and intuition, I can read what’s going on between the lines. I’ll ask the right questions to help you discover what you really want to write about or why you may be struggling.

Working with me means you always have someone to run your ideas or queries by, and you’re accountable. I can help you overcome your fears such as having nothing new to say, lack of motivation, procrastination, or wanting to change direction.

I can help you too with structure and give you feedback. It’s a step-by- step process during which I’ll support, challenge, and ultimately empower you.

You may be uncertain about the publishing process. That’s not surprising given the myriad of options now available! We’ll discuss straight away, which option is suitable for you. 

If you decide to approach a publisher, I’ll help you put a proposal together in addition to sample chapters. If you decide to self-publish I can recommend the right people for you once your manuscript is complete. That includes a jacket designer, copy-editor, proofreader and printer.

Remember: a book needs to look good as well as being well-written if it’s to be taken seriously.
